The latest edition of the DoD Captioning Style Guide, dated 28 OCT 2013, has been released. In addition to more than three dozen new and updated entries, the "Matters of style" chapter has been moved to the front of the publication for ease of use. The Joint Combat Camera (COMCAM)/ Visual Information (VI) Smart Book is meant as a reference/guide for the photographer, videographer, PAO users at the customer/user/tactical level.
DoDI 5040.07 "VI Productions" provides the authorities, policies and procedures to ensure OSD, OJCS, the Military Departments, and Defense Agencies can produce or acquire high quality and cost effective VI productions to meet their communication requirements. Please note all earlier versions of DoDI 5040.07 and DoDI 5040.09 have been rescinded.
